ENVIRONMENT INGREDIENT

Raw materials
We use solid beech and birch, and beech and birch veneer from Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Germany for the wooden parts in our products. No tropical wood is used in our products

All board that we use is produced by methods that guarantee low volumes of formaldehyde (see. Note.1) according to EI regulations.

All wooden products/parts can be recycled by composting. They can also be used for production of energy by combustion.

High pressure laminate, that is used for tabletops, is produced by using rough paper soaked in plastic, patterned paper and a transparent surface pressed together under high pressure to a thickness of 0,9mm. We also use foil as a surface material. Foil is a pure paper product. High pressure laminate and foil can be burnt together with the board without any development of toxic gases.

Steel tubes and other metal parts is produced from strip steel and is fully recyclable.

The small amount of plastic parts used for seats and backs, floor protection etc. is recyclable through grinding and reshaping.

We use water based glues and melting glues free from solvents. Melting glue contains no formaldehyde while water based glue contains low amounts according to EI regulations.

Our wooden lacquer is an acid-resisting spray paint with small shares of formaldehyde, accepted by the EI regulations. The lacquer, the hardener and the solvent is totally free from aromatic, see pkt. 2, and chlorinated hydrogen chloride, see pkt. 3. We also use UV-lacquer.

Pkt. 1. Formaldehyde is a gas that develops by hardening of lacquer and glue.
Pkt. 2. Aromatic hydrocarbons are organic unions, many of these unions are cancer-inducing and harmful for the environment and the climate.
Pkt. 3. Chlorinated hydrogen chlorides is a coalition name for organic unions that are difficult to break down in tissues and plants. They can damage the ozone layer.

We defat the metal frames with an alkaline cleaning liquid, that we after separating the oil send for destruction. The metal frames are lacquered with epoxy powder, electronically applied which gives a minimal wastage. The powder is thereafter heated to approximately 200 degrees Celsius, when it melts to a very lasting surface.

Electrolytical finish (chroming) is totally recyclable.

All filling if made without any use of freons and is fireproof.

Packing and transports
We pack our tables and chairs in corrugated cardboard, and some chairs in plastic bags. The corrugated cardboard can be recycled by the paper industry. The plastic bags of polythene can be recycled by the plastic industry, or be burnt without any toxic gases. We are associated with “Reparegistret AB”, who handles collection and energy recovery of used packings.
